About
About the name
“kopi” means “coffee” in Bahasa (language) Indonesia & “koppie” means “cup” or “hill” in South African Afrikaans. “koffie” means “coffee” in South African Afrikaans. In Dutch-colonised Java, it also meant “coffee”.
"koppi koffi" is named for the familiar sound, akin to the beloved South African farm festival "oppi koppi". “koppikoffi?” is a common question my sisters used to ask my grandfather & visting guests to offer them a good cup of coffee.

About Me
Hi, I’m Junaid.
And I just got back from living in Indonesia with Dad for a bit. It was inevitable that while there I would get sucked into the coffee scene, and I did, and I frikkin loved it!
I must admit that before that, I was just an occasional coffee drinker.
But, in Indonesia “the land of coffee” (literal Java), I was introduced to a mind-blowing variety. Luwak Coffee (the most expensive coffee in the world) was a treat of note, there truly is nothing like it (it really is the sh*t)! There are countless blends to drive you frothy (or is it botty, whatever).
So now, I would like to share with my fellow South African coffee lovers and future converts, some of what pleased my palate - I have some choice coffee beans, ground coffee, and coffee in capsules.
Selamat datang di Koppi Koffi I invite you to taste-test coffee sustainably sourced directly from Indonesia and let me know what you think. I’m sure you’ll love it like I do!
